  1. Thanks for these comments. We did book on the Princess Regal for the end of October. I wish I had seen or understood about adjoining vs connecting. Ours will connect on the balcony only. We will make it work. We are all excited. We do share custody of my grandson but may get a notarized letter to bring in addition as well as the court papers. Now hoping we can figure in naps or at least that he will get some sleep on the way to or fro. For everyone’s sake! :-)

  2. We will be in Baja 108 in an upcoming cruise on the Princess Regal. I didn’t realize it was so close to the front — it’s Right up front! We will have connecting balconies with other family in 104 and 112. Is there a higher chance of getting sick in these cabins?

  3. did anyone do the white pass scenic railway excursion? It looks amazing but one of the tour books says only if there is clear skies. What were your exoeriences? In Ketchikan same question about a plane ride over Misty Fjords

    Thanks

  4. We decided to go on a cruise in the fall. Three groups of 2. One cabin will have me and my husband (ages 59). Second cabin, hopefully adjoining will have my mom (age 79) and my 3 year old grandson — this is why we need adjoining. Third cabin another couple in 50’s.

We found two cruises where the dates would work.

One is Princess Regal. I read that they have a play area with climbing gym for ages 3-7. And other kid-friendly perks. This is a medallion cruise.

The other is Norwegian Gem. They weren’t listed as a “best kid friendly cruise” but looking on their website it seems they have things for kids too.

The Princess cruise is more expensive. But I would love to do that one. Some in the group have financial concerns though so Norwegian might be better. It is considerably less expensive.

Are travel agents able to get any better deals than what is listed on the websites?

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks so much!!

*** I should have mentioned. We do have a travel agent and I plan to talk to her tomorrow. I just want to be as prepared as I can be beforehand.

  6. Is this a Holland America cruise? I don't see any 5 day cruises scheduled for that time.

Sorry, somehow I picked the wrong place to post. It's on Royal Caribbean. I think that's it. We do have one other option that works for our group and that is a 4 day cruise beginning Oct 9 that only stops in Saint John.

  7. I did post this in one other section. I hope that is okay.

We are thinking about taking a 5 night cruise from Boston in September 2018. It has two stops, Halifax, NS and Saint Johns (New Brunswick). The reason for the cruise is to see the fall foliage. We are taking our 79 year old mother and also a 3 year old toddler (ages at time of cruise). We had considered a road trip, but I'm afraid that would be too much riding for a toddler plus trying to get naps in and early bedtimes. Then we thought of a cruise. Naps wouldn't interrupt anyone's schedule and there would be more to do. And no unpacking and repacking. It seems like a great alternative but I am wondering if we will really see much foliage this way. Has anyone been on this cruise at this time of year? I would appreciate any advice! Thanks so much!
