  1. Hi

Bit of a strange question and I have searched for this on the forum and can not find anything. Have resorted to Google and still none the wiser!

My best friend and I are sailing Independence of the season in a balcony cabin deck 7... I have had the pleasure of sailing with RCI a number of times already but always with my DHL.

We have requested a twin bed set up..so we are not sharing a bed.. do they separate the double bed they have or do they set up the sofa as a bed each night? Just curious as my BF I'd worried about the set up..

me I really do not mind just happy to be able to be lucky enough to have another mini cruise booked😉

  2. Personally I prefer Deck 10 at least with a balcony. I can not cope with the though of having an inside room. I enjoy the sound of the ocean if the door is open and the ability just to enjoy the views from the balcony. (This was a plus point when we were on Radiance of the Seas and saw Hubbards Glacier. No other people in the shots!).

For out next cruise a 3 night, DH booked an inside cabin but I just had to upgrade!

We have had two cruises on deck 10 with balcony one near the front and one near the back. Enjoyed being near the front because you could see what the captain and crew were doing and how they docked etc. being at the back was lovely too because there was hardly any people coming past your cabin. :)

I would never book a cabin near the lifts of stairs as the constant beeping from the lids and people coming at all times would wind me up as I don't sleep well at the best of times.

however next year we have decided to opt for a JS on Serenade of the Seas which is right at the back corner of the ship on deck 10 and I really can not wait to experience how different this will be. Mother and father in law have took the other JS on the other side too. We are all looking forward to being able to dine in our cabins!

We only cruise every other year and tend to do something land based on the alternating years so we like to splash out and cruise in style.;)

    Happy cruising all :)
  3. Hi

Unsure if anyone else has created a thread for this and I have searched!!

Having never been on serenade before we decided to splash out on go for a Junior Suite at back of ship! DH parents are also coming along and have another JS for themselves!

Just wanted to know if there are any reviews on cabin 1100 as I have done so much searching and I'm not getting much feedback at all. Please can anyone help.

As Serenade is a completely different ship than we are used to being on, just wanted to make sure the it still has all the RCI qualities found on Radiance and Adventure.....

Really looking forward to it.... Starting at Copenhagen is going to be wonderful.... Hand Christian Anderson was always a childhood favourite so hopefully there will be time to actually see the place between flights from the UK and back.... Do Rci normally leave enough time between flights and embarkation to tour the local area at all does any one know?

Any answers appreciated... Happy cruising one and all!,

  4. A SLR digital camera is a good one to have... My personal choice a Nikon D3100 we have two lenses and I'm forever changing them around depending on the close up or zoom that I require. I would say if you want to get really close up shots get a macro lens too.... Really depends on how deep you are willing to go into the world of photography.

I am not technically minded and do tend to point and shoot too however if you look at your photo subject from various angles and viewpoints then sometimes you will get that perfect capture..... Saying that the more you take the better you will hopefully get as you will work out what photo subjects are your bests bits of work..... For example for me it is flowers, animals and still life... Other people are great at portraits and architecture, you will develop your own styles and techniques.

There are so many cameras out there at least with a digital camera you can delete the ones you done want! Last time we did a cruise tour to Alaska with RC we took over 4000 photo's!!!!
