  1. Ok, this seems like information I should be able to find on my own, but it's proven harder than I'd expect.  I'm sorry if this is obvious somewhere, but I do hope someone can help me! 🙂

So, I have two questions:  First, can you get a water taxi to Yelapa from somewhere close to the cruise port or do you absolutely have to get to the Los Muertos pier?  I thought I remembered they go from somewhere else, but I can't find it anywhere?

Second, I saw somewhere someone said to allow 5-6 hours of travel time for to-from Yelapa, but I also saw it's a 30-40 minute trip.  Can someone give me an accurate estimate?

    Thanks!

Put suites/balcony cabins on the outside of the pool, so now the pool itself is down in a hole with only a few chairs around it, and if you want direct sun most of the day, you have to go up on deck 18.  To us it's a worse space than it used to be.  But they wanted more cabins to sell.  I actually cancelled a booking on the Sky for April and moved to the Royal for this reason.

We'll do the Sky again if it's the only option, but if we can book the Royal/Regal, we will choose that one first.

Oh!  Good to know.  I was on a ship with the spa pool like that.  Can't remember which one?  It was nice and quiet, but you're right - not super sunny and felt more like it was inside than outside.

  3. Hi!

I know this is an old thread, but I would like to know more about the Retreat if anyone sees this.  We are sailing on the Royal mid March and don't really care for the loud and boisterous atmosphere of the main pools.  I basically plan to spend ALL my free time either at the Retreat or Sanctuary, assuming the weather is nice.  Does the area fill up with reserved deck chairs by 7 am?  Is it worth buying a cabana?  Are they available for pre-reservation or only after boarding?  Would I be better off buying a Sanctuary pass for sun protection?

I pretty much live in the Solarium on Celebrity, and the chairs can be hard to come by if you're not there at the crack of dawn.  I mostly wonder if this is the same?

  4. Not necessarily. According to the MdDS fpundation, it can last for years - https://mddsfoundation.org/about/.

    DON

Huh. It has a name! Who knew?

If it persists I would speak with your physician about it and if it takes a long time to go away I would discuss with your doctor to talk about preventative options which may be available.

    Keith

I will! I don't know if preventative is necessary. It doesn't really bother me, and it's always gone away in the past.

  5. If it goes on much longer I would see your physician just to be on the safe side.

    Keith

Yeah, I will do that. It's not really frightening (yet), just odd. Kind of fun, even, since it reminds me I was cruising recently! ;) I'll give it another few days, but if it hangs around for 2 weeks, I will see someone about it.

A little "Hair of the Dog" solution may be in order: Take another cruise immediately.

    Best advice yet!

Thank you all! It's nice to know it's not just me. Cheers!

  6. So, how long does it typically take to stop having these lightheaded moments after a cruise? I got back from a (short!) cruise on the 21st (8 days ago), and I'm still having moments of feeling like the world is moving.

I remember this from previous cruises, but I don't remember it going on this long! I have never had a moment of seasickness; it just feels strange. Does anyone else experience this? Is this typical, or just me??

  7. If you guys are sailing three in a cabin, the Infinite veranda makes sense. You will have more room in the cabin when you open the folding balcony doors.

Yeah, I tried. It's new, and they like things the way they know. Oh well, we have an infinite, and I moved them to far forward. So excited to see the new ship!

Thanks for the info, everyone! :-)

  8. Hey! Sailing with my parents on the second sailing of the Edge in Dec 2018. They are booked in a regular balcony cabin on Deck 7 waaaay aft. Second or third from the very end. Does anyone think they are likely to be hearing a lot of noise from Eden?

We're a little farther forward, so we won't, but they didn't want an Infinite Balcony. Thoughts?

  9.

So if drinks were on average $11.50 or so, you would have to drink more than 6 alcohol drinks a day to make the package worth while. I really can't even see it existing! But then again that is naive me.

If all you drink is alcoholic, yes, but we also like to have mochas in the morning, Pelligrino during the day, and so on. When you include all that, too, it can add up. Are those no longer included? For real??
