  1. It's a good idea but we have also noticed issues. Carrie told us about it when we had a RS in April, and we were told to go through the doors on the left, rather than the right, and found it hilarious that both doors led through to the same area! Then there was no "Special Delivery" sign, but a port employee I spotted did help us with an expedited check in service.

Last week in Civitavecchia we arrived at the port with friends who were staying in the PH (and so had been told to use the Special Delivery service) and they went to a employee standing next to the sign, and were told it wasn't open yet! Again quite amusing.

Great idea, but not always well delivered.

  2. I find it so odd that bibles are in the staterooms, and am fairly sure this will eventually change. If I want anything related to my interests on holiday, I take it with me and I don't leave it behind for the next person :')!

  3. Hi everyone, I was aware recently that Anca had joined Equinox as Suites Manager and had understood she was trialling the position with it expected later to roll out. I can see from a recent thread on here that people are now talking about Suites Managers on other ships so I'm wondering whether it has now been rolled out and there will be a Suite Manager on Silhouette next month, or if people are referring to the Michael's Club Concierge and Suites Manager as one of the same thing? Does anyone know?

  4. We are also in the U.K. and booked through a US TA.

We definitely had the option of moving to either CS sailing at the same rate, so no increase at all. The only reason we didn't is we had a reason to stay on the original shorter cruise, like you.

The only thing I can suggest if your TA refuses to accept this is to phone Celebrity US and clarify with them on a general basis and then get them to make a note on the system for when your TA calls, or ask them if they will call your TA.

    Good luck!

  5. Hi, great to hear how great the dining has been on your cruise. We are staying in a Royal Suite on Silhouette next month, can I ask - what is the name of your butler? And did you have to ask for the sandwiches/fruit/cheese to be delivered when you missed afternoon tea in Michael's or was it brought automatically?

    Thanks!

  6. We are also on this cruise but have been given different information than you, it might be worth checking with your TA that the information is correct.

Our options were to stay on the cruise at the same rate we'd paid and receive $100 OBC (essentially being paid $100 to have an extra night), or to move to a new booking and take the perks with us, or go on either of the two Constellation sailings you mentioned at the same rate as what we had paid for the five day sailing. The concierge cost on either CS sailing is much more than what we paid so it would be a steal to swap.

The other thing I've noticed is the current pricing for the six day sailing is pretty much the same as when we booked it as a five day, so I'm surprised to see the $500 increase in cost in any event.

I definitely advice you to check the information you've got because we have stayed on board at no additional cost and received $100.

Hope yo can work it out!

  7. Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone might know the answer to a question I had.

If I am a suite guest and I rent a cabana at the suite only Barefoot Beach at Labadee, can I bring our non-suite guests that we're travelling with, to the cabana? (We would not be exceeding the guest limit of the cabana).

I would ordinarily think the answer is no, but the last time we were at Barefoot we saw non-suite guests in the cabanas so it's got me wondering!

Thanks in advance for any help!

  8. Hi, does anyone who is currently onboard or who has recently been onboard know what the current promotion is for booking onboard?

On my last cruise in January it was two perks for Europe cruises and all four perks if you book a suite. I was wondering if it was the same - I am trying to decide whether to wait until my cruise next month before booking (I will be looking at a Europe booking).

    Any thoughts gratefully received!

  9. We are currently on Silhouette but got off Eclipse on Sunday, this is our 9th Celebrity cruise and we have never posted a review before but we wanted to share our experience of Eclipse and Aqua/Blu as there have been some recent negative reviews and we wanted to give our take on the experience.

We are a couple aged 32 and 35 and this is our first time in Aqua. We usually have a concierge room and eat mainly in the speciality restaurants but decided to try Aqua for these two cruises.

For us, many of the points covered in other reviews don't matter to us but I'll mention the water as some are interested. On Eclipse, we had daily water still but on Silhouette we were told water would only be provided on the first day. As we have a premium drinks package, it's of no consequence to us, although it's perhaps strange for it to be different on each ship.

The stateroom attendants were and are as good as usual. When we arrived on Silhouette there were a couple of marks on the pillow case but before deciding whether to politely ask if they could be swapped, the attendant must have spotted it himself as the pillow cases had been changed. Great service and no problem that he missed it first time round.

Like a lot of people, we like the canapés in concierge but recognise the quality varies, however in Aqua on Eclipse there was a noticeable improvement in the quality of the canapés. On Silhouette after two days, the canapés are more like the ones in concierge but it doesn't matter too much to us.

We thought Blu was outstanding in every respect. From the host Olga who always tried to keep our table free or at least keep space in the same area, to the waiters and sommelier, everyone was nice, friendly, and great fun. In our opinion, the food was outstanding in both quality and presentation. Maybe it's that we have a lower expectation level, but maybe not. Our view is you get out what you put in and you can let yourself have an amazing cruise like we did or you can do the opposite.

We have had access to Michael's Club before it included Sky Suites so we know the service level that it used to be and although we weren't in Michael's this cruise, it looked no different in terms of people when we were in it - i.e not very busy at all generally. We are back in Michael's for our next two cruises so we will see for sure if there is any difference but my guess is no.

So in summary, Eclipse and Blu are to us an excellent product and so far Silhouette is the same. So look forward to your next cruise and don't worry!
