Fantasy Review

Better late than never ....this was my 2nd cruise on Fantasy in 21/2 months. We cruised Feb. 2nd and again April 28th. We took the 5 day to grand Turk and Half Moon Cay...as well as Nassau.

Grand Turk was beautiful...once you got away from Margaritaville. I sliced my foot open on rocks buried in the sand..be careful. Spend the $5.00 pp each way and Taxi into town....very quaint.

Half moon was beautiful too. Since I could barely walk...I didn't venture too far. The water is phenominal though.

The staff was superb, much better than in Feb. Our waiters were excellent..especially the buttslap macerania.(sp) So funny and unexpected. My special staff award goes out to Dave in the Piano Bar...he left the ship with us..so sorry for all of you future cruisers, you missed out on a gem.

He sang his heart out. God Bless him..25 yrs old..cute as a button and sang Buffet and Billy Joel, OVER and OVER and OVER again. People...request something different. He was really good..best of luck to him.

Now my negative....I am a chef, so a food snob by trade....the food was awful. Most nights I just watched my table mates eat. The desserts were even worse!!! No creme brulee??? What's that about.

Stayed out of the spa and casino this time. It was a very relaxing vacation.

sorry, had to do a few things..

OK food lousy, entertainment great..the shows and music (Dave). Ports were beautiful. The tender process was a little funky. You had to go to the Universe Lounge and get a ticket. Wait for the tender , then go over to the island. Embarkation was tough..they had 2 Carnival Ships in..so we had to park in a lot with a valet $$$$ no choice. Stood in line 45 minutes or so.

Getting off the ship, again, took until about 10:30. But, all in all not too bad. I have to say I've cruised over 15 times in the last 3 years. Now that the kids are grown :) I am partial to other cruise lines. I have never taken a 7 day cruise on Carnival, but it can't be too much differant from the 5.

The ship is lovely and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

ENJOY

I enjoyed your brief yet detailed review of the Fantasy! :) I too will be traveling aboard her with 2 friends in July and every post I read about her has been positive. I appreciate the honesty in your review although I may not be such a harsh critic on the food since I'm not a chef! :D

Hope your foot gets better!

1timecruiser..

I apologize if my "review" was too brief. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have. I feel that some reviews are a little too picky....what your tablemates did in port etc...

CtMak..my DH just brought up an interesting point???? Any relation? How is he? We also are from Ct., Madison..
