My husband is worried he is going to miss the Super Bowl this year because we are sailing that day. Does anyone know if it will be on the TV on the PRIDE? He is h oping his team makes it there this year and if they do he will be all upset if he misses the BIG GAME.

I had the same worries, because we booked a cruise on the Valor and didn't realize til later that it was Superbowl Sunday, and my husband was so mad!

But people on these boards reassured me that is should definately be on, and Carnival usually throws parties and sets up a special buffet for the fans.

I sailed the Fantasy a few years back on Superbowl Sunday. Not only was the game on in every lounge that had a T.V., they opened the confrence room up, which had a large screen T.V. and passed out snacks and drinks. Don't know if the game was on in the cabins, because it was so much fun.

You guys are awesome. Thanks for answering me so quickly! DH will be VERY happy now! It would be fun to watch the game with a bunch of people. However I have a feeling the bar tab will be very high that first night we sail. Beer and football go hand in hand in this house. LOL!

They had a big honking party on the Inspiration 1/26/03

in the loung. Buckets of beer and snacks. There was a bigger turn out that for bingo:) The SIL and DD stayed for the whole thing while the DGD and I had the rest of the ship to ourselves;)

Why yes he is a Steeler fan! He will be exstactic when he sees them go to the Super Bowl ONCE AGAIN! We live in Central Ohio but grew up 30 mins from Pittsburgh and both of our fathers worked the steel mills when we were kids so of course it is in our blood to root for the Steelers.

Once AGAIN? Your DH must have a good LONG-term memory. The Steelers have not been to the super bowl since LOSING to Dallas in 1996, and have not been to the Big Show before that since 1980. Short-term memory reveals your Steelers losing to New England in their recent playoff appearances, and you know history does tend to repeat itself.

GO PATS for the dynasty.

no kidding, I just hope if the pats are lucky enough to make it back to the steel city that they at least bring some offense with them...halloween was great, but a monday night in Miami was even better...get your BUS tickets to jacksonville now...

Oh, and to stay on topic, I agree with the above postings...the game will be on all over the ship...Get to the rooms early as they do fill up...I've sailed 3 times on SBS and every time they've done it well. You will likely miss dinner that night if thats matters to you????

On the Paradise 2/1/04 the had a very large screen in the large lounge in the rear of the ship. We tipped a bar boy, waiter, whatever and got front row reserved seats. Food out the ying yang good commercials and got flashed at halftime by Janet Jackson. Front row, large screen, I was half blind the rest of the cruise.

I"m going on the Pride too that day, :) I'm so excited, we are getting so close!! Less than a month!! See you at the game!

I know what you mean about excited! I can't quit talking about it, last night I tried all my dinner clothes on and matched my jewelry and shoes. This morning I got together our coolies (can wraps), insulated mugs, and some snacks for my kids to take. Tonight I am going to have my 4yr old pack his things and make sure his dress clothes still fit. We are taking our two kids this time. This will be their first time on a cruise. They are 4 and 21 months. I am taking sooo much more stuff since they are going. What are your ages? We are in our middle 30's. We have a big group going -about 30 of us. We are all from Ohio so we are looking forward to some sunshine and warm weather.

HI YesItsFree... I'm going with a family and friends group of 26 from Michigan. I'm 29 and the oldest is about 75.. So we have quite an age span! Though I tease them about being old they are actually a lot of fun

:) Being from Ohio, you will be looking forward to the warm weather as well!

A few years ago we were on an RCI cruise over Superbowl Sunday. They cut our day short in Nassau to be at sea for the festivities. They pulled white curtains across the stage in the theater and showed the game on that. There were parties all over the ship, even a separate one for the teens in their own nightclub. We also got to watch DH's beloved Eagles lose in NFC championship game the following year on the Voyager. It made it a little more bearable. I am sympathizing with all of you Steelers fans today. We were hoping for an all PA Superbowl here!

I too thought that the Superbowl would be an all PA game. I was wrong. Very happy not to be sailing during superbowl weekend...although I woulda loved being in one of the floating motels beinig used that weekend./
