NCL Upgrade Program Has Advantages

At the 80 day mark I made a reasonable upgrade bid for my upcoming September cruise on the Escape. I have watched the availability ever since the day that I made it. Recently I started to see many of the cabins disappearing from the availability so I decided to bite the bullet and book the rate (which had been reduced by a few hundred dollars). When I spoke with a NCL rep she advised that my present booking included a $300 OBC and some paid service charges which I would lose as the current fare doesn't have these amenities. She also mentioned that she has seen some cabins pulled from availability recently so that could be a sign that updates are bing offered. With this information, I am going to stand by the bid I made as it seems like the best way to go at this point. The good thing about the update program is that you can keep all of the freebies you got in your original booking.
