Glory 6/23 Review...w/pics

This was the first cruise in 15 years for my DW and I, and I can't believe we waited so long. I think we are hooked again. This was a gloryous vacation (pardon the pun).

Since we live in Central Florida, it was a fairly easy drive to Port Canaveral on the day of our cruise. As we pulled into the port we caught our first glimpse of the Glory, our home for the next 7 days.

We arrived around 10:30am but were not allowed to enter as they were still disembarking the previous weeks passengers. We left and came back around 11:00 and they let us in. We went straight to where we dropped off our luggage, parked and entered the terminal. I can honestly say that by the time we entered the terminal and the time we were on the ship, was no more than 15 minutes. Unbelievable.

We went up to the lido deck and walked around and had lunch at the Red Sail.

After lunch we went to our cabin around 1:30.

I must say the colors on the Glory are striking, but ok. The Amber Palace where the shows took place was a little over the top though.

After roaming around and then the muster drill (which was not too bad), it was back to our cabin to unpack and experience sail away on our balcony.

After sail away it was time to get ready for dinner. We had the early sitting 5:45, so we didn't have much time. We had originally requested the 6:15 sitting but the ship was sold out and there wasn't anything available. It worked out fine. We also were seated at a table for two which was alittle strange at first but ended up being ok. Our servers were great and did a terrific job. They remembered our names the first night and were really friendly and personable. The food in the dining room was very good every night.

The rest of the night was filled with more roaming, casino and welcome aboard show at the palace. This will probably be my only negative part of the review. The Glory dancers were ok but not real polished...the female singer was pretty good, but the male singer (Ed Chen) I hate to say was horrible. I don't think he would have made it passed the auditions for American Idol. The other performers; magicians, comedians, and especially Marcus Anthony the Motown singer were very good.

Day 2 Nassau

We arrived in port around 8:30am and left around 2:00pm. This was plenty of enough time in Nassau. Not my favorite port. We walked about 10-15 minutes from the ship to the Hilton Resort where we payed $15pp for a day pass and had full use of their private beach and pool. We also visited the Straw Market briefly and then back to the ship.

Definately the best dinner of the cruise. After dinner, alittle shopping and the show and more donations to the casino.:o

I have to stop for now but I will continue the review tomorrow

Did you like it as much as we did?

I sure did.....it was amazing....both food and service. :D They gave so much food we could barely finish the dessert. I had that 3 chocolate thing for dessert and I could go for one right now. :p

We sail on July 14th. Thanks for the wonderful review. Greatly appreciated! Are you using the internet cafe or your own laptop? What are the costs?

I am doing this from my personal computer. I did not use the internet services on board

thank you for the wonderful review. When and where should we make researvation for dinner? I really like your pictures in Emerald Room Supper Club. :-)

As soon as you get on board the ship, they have a display and sign up table right there in the lobby. We made reservations on a non formal night. The sooner you make reservations the better choices you have for nights and times.
