Space Center Hotel Question

Recommended Posts

We will be in the Houston area for 1 night and are planning a trip to the Space Center. We are aware it is "out of town" but are looking for a hotel recomendation close to the Space Center itself vs. in downtown Houston-a nice restaurant close by would be an added bonus. The restaurant doesn't have to be "the best" just good. Thank you in advance for your help.

Go to the Outpost Tavern on your way to NASA (it's at NASA Road 1 and Egret Bay Boulevard. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's where the astronauts went to drink (and occasionally eat) and it's filled with signed photos and other stuff. Heading further east past NASA toward Seabrook are all sorts of motels and restaurants on Clear Lake.

check out www.clearlakehotels.com for most of the hotels in the Webster, Clear Lake, Seabrook, NASA area.

also check out www.kemahboardwalk.com for another attraction with restaurants.

There's two things that our area is not lacking in, and that's food and lodging! The web site given by the earlier poster is a great way to start. If you are staying on NASA Parkway, and you have transportation, you might want to visit the Kemah Boardwalk. There are a host of restaurants, on Galveston Bay, great views and activities for all ages. Just know that you will be about 25 miles from the terminal, and plan on around an hour, depending on traffic, to travel.

Have a great trip!
