Ideas for excursions with 2yr old...

Recommended Posts

We will be in Nassau, St. THomas and St. Maarten. My wife and I have been to each of these islands a few times, but that was prior to having children so our focus on things to do was different.

We would prefer not to take any taxi's/shuttles (DW is nervouse with our son) but I am OK with it.

What would you suggest would be a fun time for the 3 of us? In Nassau, i was thinking the aquarium. Not sure about the other 2 though.

Also, in Nassau, is there a beach at Atlantis we can use for the day after touring the aquarium?

Any input or advise you have is appreciated!

Ardastra Gardens.

The are the ones that do the Marching Flamingos... there's also a spot where you can feed apples to some birds. Put out your hand, and they'll fly to it, and sit there eating apples.

We went on our own thing... hired a cabby.

Got to Ardastra after a flamingo show... so it was mostly empty... but we ended up meeting the trainer, and he let us walk around with the birds... it was cool!

Birds walk around the gardens freely... peacocks and such.

and it was cheap!

The one thing, though... Ardastra is one way from the pier, Atlantis is the other way.

St Thomas has Coral World... it's an aquarium.

St Maarten has this neat Butterfly Farm - always neat to walk around a garden with butterflies flitting around your head.

I have pictures of those, too... but not downloaded to a web service.
