cruzaddict Posted May 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2004 I want to book my cruise with one of these online discount cruise locations, but this is the first time using one of them. Can anyone tell me which ones are the "legitimate" ones? They are so much cheaper than a travel agent. knowla1 Posted May 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I have been happy with Cruisequick. Review some past postings there is a lot of discussion on this topic. grins88 Posted May 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We have booked our last two cruises with CruisesOnly.com, and we have been very pleased thus far. They also seem to have some of the best prices that I have found (there are usually no hidden fees like other sites). Also, you can view 360 degree tours of different areas of the ship as well as staterooms. FYI, I have preferred calling them and speaking to an actual TA rather than booking online, just a personal preference. Good luck, Kelly
Diane F Posted May 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Check out cheapertravel.com.I booked my last two cruises through them. They have no cancellation penalties and no fee for documents. You can check out their rates online.

2VaCruzers Posted May 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We used Bestpricecruises and have been happy so far! When the price goes down (which it has once already) then we call and they adjust the price. Spring Break on Explorer...Come join us!! dtm09 Posted May 14, 2004 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I just booked my first cruise through cruisequick two days ago. I received my travel documents TODAY!
Clarksfan1 Posted May 14, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Expedia.com gets my vote. Very nice and friendly. If you have fears of being "online" you can get the expedia price through their 1800 number on their site.
cruzaddict Posted May 14, 2004 Author #10 Share Posted May 14, 2004 dtm09: I just got a "really" good quote from cruisequick.com.are there any hidden fees?what kind of deposit do you have to give them? Shelley
dtm09 Posted May 14, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2004 There are no hidden fees with cruisequick. The deposit depends on when your trip is scheduled. Since my trip is only a month away, I had to pay the full price.
cruzaddict Posted May 14, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted May 14, 2004 dtm09: my cruise isn't until april 2005,so I probably only need to put a deposit down.they were $462.00 cheaper than my travel agent, for the exact same category! Shelley
dtm09 Posted May 14, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 14, 2004 If I'm not mistaken, there is a place on the form that cruisequick sent to you that indicates what the deposit will be. I actually had an online agent quote me a cheaper price (by about $200) than cruisequick, but they also had 8 complaints with the BBB in the last 2 years, 1 of which is still unresolved. I didn't want the hassle, so I paid the extra money. Everything I read about cruisequick was quite complimentary.
cruzaddict Posted May 14, 2004 Author #14 Share Posted May 14, 2004 they just emailed me saying that I had to put 1 $450.00 per person deposit, and there are three of us.I'm just not quite sure of the cabin location?I need some input about it maybe from someone who has stayed in it. DMorris Posted May 14, 2004 #15 Share Posted May 14, 2004 How many days is your cruise? $450 seems high for a deposit for a 7 day. You also need to email cruisequick to make sure they didn't give you any senior or resident discounts you didn't qualify for. They did that to me once and I am glad I asked.
