gizmodog Posted May 13, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2004 We will be on the Seranade in October and I am looking for any recommendations regarding dinner times from any of you who have done the Hawaii cruise. Love to have some comments on what time would be better to choose by your own experience. Thanks so much
Nancyquilts Posted May 14, 2004 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2004 When do you like to eat at home? We like first, even tho' sometimes it seems too early because we can see the show after dinner (sometimes early seating sees the show before), and then we aren't too full for bed (or the midnight buffet) . Tra4 Posted May 14, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We had kids with us, so we had early seating. We also had early excursions--however if I didn't have the kids, take late. Many times you are exploring the islands and get back late and its a rush to get ready for dinner. Have fun! Tracey Until we cruise again. . . . . . iluvcruzin Posted May 14, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I recommend late seating. I sailed on the Vision for my Hawaii cruise in 2000. Enjoy every min. possible onshore you can. Then take your time to get ready for dinner (or grab a little nap before). Just a little fyi unrelated.. I found renting cars on the islands worked out fabulously. Book them in advance as they do run out of rentals. It's cheaper and easier than the tours. You can do your own. I researched for almost a year, planned everything out and went for it. It was the best trip ever. Maureen Princess Sun 2/27/2005 Mariner of the Seas 10/16/2005

abridalmaven Posted May 14, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We did late because no rush after excursions. But the 4 sea days it was also good because if we wanted to go to the hot tubs, they were empty late afternoon as the family crowds were getting ready for dinner. dougp26364 Posted May 14, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2004 I'm anxiously awaiting for RCI to put out the repositioning cruises for the Alaska ships in 2005. I'd like to spend a couple of days in Seattle before sailing Alaska. As for seating on this cruise, while we prefer early seating, I think we'll probably ask for late seating. As mentioned earlier I want to be able to spend as much time ashore as I can. On sea days, there's always the Windjammer and other alternatives for a little snack if we get hungry before dinner. Of course we could always oreder room service or just eat dinner at our leasure on sea days.
