Galveston ships May 2005

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know why you can't pull up any ships out of Galveston May 2005 on? I can pull up some of the itineraries all the way to 2006 but not Galveston. Are they changing ships? There used to be the Rhapsody and a 4/5 day cruise on another RCCL ship but I can't pull anything.

Any info would be appreciated!

Diane

Hi just returned from a cruise and picked up an Itinerary book from there and it shows that the Rhapsody goes out of Galveston for the Western Caribbean from January 4, 2004 to April 24, 2005 with Sunday Departures. That is the only ship in 2005 leaving from Galveston. Also a special holiday sailing departing Dec 19, 2004 and New Years sailing on December 26,2004.

I too, want to book the Rhapsody for June of 2005 but RCL only has bookings open up until April of that year. I asked the future cruise consultant on my past Splendour cruise when they would open bookings up for the remainder of the year and she said it would be in a month or two. I guess we'll have to wait. icon_frown.gif Also, sadly, no 4/5 day cruises being offered out of Galveston as far as she knew. That's what I really wanted---I can sneak in those quicky vacations more often.

I wonder why no 4/5 day cruises anymore? I am just worried that they will bring in a big boat in May and I will wish I hadn't booked yet. My husband says he would only switch if we could get the same cabin at the same price.

I guess I will just wait and watch. It gives me something to look for.

A lot is missing for 2005. There is a very strong rumor that the HAL Statendam is comming in Dec. of 2005. I think there is a lot going on that the port of Galveston is not willing to let loose of yet. I guess we will all have to sit back and wait. I am finding that RCCL is kind of cautious about their plans for ships more than a year at a time. Except those that they are not about to move from the ports of Miami and Lauderdale. This may be a good sign though that they are thinking about what to do in 2005 and 2006.

It is a shame that we lost the Splendour. I will miss it. I will not go back to the Rapsody until they change the run. Also a shame, that is one of the best run ships in their fleet.

I wrestled with reality for years, Doctor, and I'm happy to state, I finally won out over it. (Harvey 1950)
