Carnival Shuttle Service From Port Of Venice

We will be docked in Venice on The Carnival Dream on October 19th and 20th. Does anyone know if Carnival provides free shuttle service to some vaporetti stop?

Carnival does not.

 

There should be bus transportation available from the ship to Piazzale Roma and from there a short walk to lots of water buses. Last time it was about 5 or 6 euros round trip and it was a better deal to pay in US dollars.

 

 

Alilaguna runs a limited service from the cruise ship port to San Marco:

Alilaguna is different from the Vaporetti.

Thanks Schultz. I assune an alternative would be to walk from the pier to the closest Vaporetto station which I think is Tronchetto. Not sure how far it is or how to get there.I probably should be asking these questions on the PORTS board.

I would walk to Piazzale Roma. where there are far more options. Part of it is uphill - actually up the ramp of the bridge. Just follow all the other cruisers. It might be a 15 minute walk +/-.

 

If you are going to be using the waterbuses, you might want to get a 24 hour pass - available for purchase in advance at a discount. Just be sure you validate it before your first ride.

We were in Venice two months ago and were pleasantly surprised to see the port improvements.

Now one can get the vaporetto right next to the ship and connect in piazella Roma.So, walking is no longer necessary to catch public transportation:)

I will be interested in seeing that.

 

Still, it might be faster to walk to Roma instead of joust with hundreds or thousands of passengers trying to catch that vaporetto. Sometimes there are lots of ships in Venice.
