lthouseprincess Posted September 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2009 we are on the disney magic in Nov. What would be the best beach and snorkle spot? We do not want to get on another boat so that rules out Buck island. We want a beach that has chairs for rent and food close and pretty good snorkling ( we are new at it)
The Islander Posted October 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2009 Look up Cane Bay... nice beach, good snorkeling close to shore, snorkel gear rentals available at dive shop across the street from the beach, chairs available, two restaurants/bars for food/drink/restrooms. --Islander
golfer1966 Posted November 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2009 So if our group wanted to do something on our own ( beach and snorkel ) youd recommend Cane Bay??
The Islander Posted December 24, 2009 #4 Share Posted December 24, 2009 golfer1966 - yes Cane Bay is a nice choice for beach and snorkeling. Also some of the beaches close to Frederiksted also are nice and some have snorkeling. You could also head to Buccaneer Resort, small entry fee, nice beach there called Mermaid and their other beach the Grotto has decent snorkeling. --Islander
elysams Posted December 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 25, 2009 Islander- How far a ride is it from the port to the buccaneer? Thanks Elysa:)
The Islander Posted December 28, 2009 #6 Share Posted December 28, 2009 Frederiksted to Buccaneer, 35-40 minutes one way. --Islander
golfer1966 Posted January 4, 2010 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2010 We went to Cane Bay. The beach was nice, but the water was a bit rough that day. You could still snorkel but had to be careful where the water got shallow so current didnt push you into the rocks. Snorkeling was pretty good.
