Building a pier in Grand Cayman?

I'm not sure if I'm correct but I thought I had read somewhere about a pier being built in Grand Cayman or Belize.....I don't know for sure I remember reading it as a post on here. I searched for the post but I didn't have any luck, so I apologize if someone has already answered this. But I would appreciate if you know please share the info.

The administration of the previous government did get as far as signing a Memorandum of Understanding outlining general terms of a port redevelopment including construction of cruise berthing facilities. That was moving the whole process much further along than ever before.

 

However, following elections in May 2009, a new administration was voted in and government has begun the whole process all over again.

 

The current government is actively soliciting proposals once again, and just moved the deadline for submission back a few days to encourage more competition in filing for this major project. The desired goals still focus on creating berthing facilities for four ships, with capacity to berth the new Oasis class ships.

 

As of now no work has yet begun on construction of any berthing facilities. Also there is no timeline as yet for when any berthing facilities would be operational.
