I was looking at the first week of August so my kids wouldn't miss school. Yes, we have to do Labor Day week b/c our anniversary is on the 4th of September. Last year we cruised 2 weeks in a row so we could cruise with some friends that were doing the same itenerary the 2nd week of September though. shonandsuzie Posted September 18, 2009 Author #53 Share Posted September 18, 2009 I would have to agree, wholeheartedly, with the Sarg. Although I didn't do much with the cruise critic group (I did make the Meet'n'Greet ;)), I found Shonandsuzie to be the "tops". Most definitely a great fun couple. Love the pics and review also, Shon. :D Oh goodness. Now you made me tear up at my desk at work. You guys are all so sweet.:o
bonnie&clydecruzers Posted September 18, 2009 #54 Share Posted September 18, 2009 SUNDAY (9/13) MISC. NOTES: SHIP ENTERTAINMENT: We thought the singers on this ship were excellent. There was a couple that sang in the lobby each evening who sounded just beautiful. Of course, we thought “Michael” near the casino bar was excellent. He sang very well but he also had an excellent grasp on how to include his audience. The calypso band near the pools made me so happy! I love it when they actually play calypso music from the carribean instead of classic rock songs. It just feels right to me. Ron in the piano bar always had a crowd. We couldn’t hang out in there b/c that was one smoky room! How would you rate the calypso band? How long did they actually play? I as well love when the band plays calypso music. Thanks. Also what night did you guys do your cabin crawl?

I as well love when the band plays calypso music. Thanks. Also what night did you guys do your cabin crawl? The calypso band was really good. They played every afternoon. Usually from 11-3 and then 4-6 or something like that. They also played inside by the casino bar one night. The Capers told when and where they would be each day. We did our cabin crawl on the last sea day (Saturday) afternoon. It took about an hour. We thought that would be a good time to do it b/c we knew eachother a little better by then-- (you know, you are inviting people into your cabin! lol) --and it was early enough in the day to not interfere with othe fun activities. eggypann Posted September 18, 2009 #56 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Suzie - Another big thanks for a great review and all the wonderful pics. You sure are an adorable couple! That's a great anniversary tradition! I love the idea of the cabin crawl - you can look at deck plans all day long and still not have a feel for what the cabin is like. The aft wrap looks like a great cabin - I'd sure love that balcony. One question about the Hyatt- and I know you didn't stay there but I think one or two other posters mentioned it. Have any idea what the prices are like there? Thanks again - I love when folks take time out of their busy days to let those of us still dreaming about our upcoming cruises have great previews of what's to come!!:D
jer630 Posted September 18, 2009 #57 Share Posted September 18, 2009 SUNDAY (9/13) Outside of our roll call group, we thought the other cruisers in general were just happy fun people this time. No grumbling and complaining to speak of. Almost everyone we met was very friendly.(we did hear some interesting stories about some lady running around slapping people, and a fight on an excursion but thankfully neither incident involved us). Great review! We were on the excursion with the fight in Mazatlan (at least I hope there wasn't more than one of them). Crazy stuff...I wrote about it in my review in the main section. Otherwise, definitely was a nice cruise.

I think it runs around 150.00 or more per night. But, I got it on Priceline for 81.00! It was a great room with 2 double beds and a harbor view!! I love reading reviews myself and it's so much more fun to tell your cruise story to people who understand. :) They did tell me how much the Hyatt was but I cant remember....Jeff will probably pop back on and tell you. :) EDIT: LOL. I knew Jeff would pop on and tell you but I cant believe he beat me to it! LMAO

cherylcorwin Posted September 20, 2009 #73 Share Posted September 20, 2009 What happened that you guys left Long Beach late? I was on the Mariner and saw that you guys also left almost 1 hour late. Btw don't you have any pic from the Mariner leaving San Pedro?I was on the cruise the week before & got a pic of the Mariner in Cabo (they stayed 2 hours after us, due to our re-scheduling & the hurricane)
cateyes2u Posted September 20, 2009 #74 Share Posted September 20, 2009 I really enjoyed reading your review and looking at the fun pics. I did not see any comments about MUTS...movies under the stars. I thought they had this on the Splendor. If so, did you catch any movies? How was the sound? As you can see, I'll be sailing next month. Looks like have a new drink to try :o
