joetop2467 Posted September 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Where is the nearest free access point to 7 mile beach in the area of the Ritz or the Westin. We're not sure if we're taking a taxi or the bus.
CruisinStarFish Posted September 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 18, 2009 Check the sticky in the above thread. I had a lot of questions answered for me in that post. I read that the van AKA bus runs every 15 min to 7 mile beach and it's way cheaper than a cab ride. Also, the entire beach is public so it's free, just have to pay for chairs, umbrellas, ect ect:D
Rare YoPhilly Posted September 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2009 The beach is public and free and you won't pay anything if you bring a towel to lie on. Otherwise, expect to pay to use a hotel's amenities.
drew sailbum Posted September 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 18, 2009 The beach between the water's edge and the mean high water mark is property of the crown and thus open to the public. The mean high water mark is where the high tide reaches on an average day. The public portion of the beach is usually visible as the area of compacted sand just above the waterline. It is a small portion of the total sandy area. There are various public access points are marked with a sign. A business or private residence is not required to provide access across its property to reach the public beach. Just north of the Westin and next to the Governor's residence is a public access point for the beach.
