BananaKetchup Posted September 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Has anyone ever been on a carnival cruise for New Year's Eve? can you tell me what types of special events/activites they do for New Year's eve?
CalmCruiserNC Posted September 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2009 I've been on several New Year's cruises, including a millennium cruise. They were always a formal night in the restaurant and ALL of the lounges onboard had simultaneous parties. People actually did get VERY dressed up! They passed out noise makers and hats and all that sort of stuff. There was a bottle of champagne placed in our stateroom before dinner. After midnight, they always had a big buffet -- even on the ships that otherwise stopped doing midnight buffets. New Year's is really fun on a ship -- at home, we would have gone to bed LONG before the ball falls!
RaMar Posted September 21, 2009 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Last year on the Legend they had a big party outside by the pool. Hats, noise makers, lots of champagne and fun. It was my first New Year's on a cruise and it was great!
padre Posted September 21, 2009 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2009 They were always a formal night in the restaurant Was on the Victory for this past NYE and it did not fall on a pre determined Formal (Elegant) night. People did dress up a little more than any other non formal night, but in no way was it as much as the formal nights
padre Posted September 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted September 21, 2009 some people chose to dress better than others!
CorvetteLady Posted September 21, 2009 #6 Share Posted September 21, 2009 Has anyone done one that sails on New Years Eve? Thinking about the Triumph from NO and it sails 12/31. They never have an elegant night the first night of a cruise so was wondering what they do in this situation.

I was wondering the same thing as we were looking at the same cruise or the Ecstasy out of Galveston.
Litewait Posted September 21, 2009 #8 Share Posted September 21, 2009 This will be our 4th Annual New Years at sea. Need I say more?:D I'm sure they will dress up. On my cruises New Years eve has never been on the formal night, but most people dress up. Enjoy the free champagne!!
