Cabins by the Elevators

Just curious to find out if there is a lot of noise if your cabin is by the elevator? We have Cabin 8331 on the Freedom of the Seas and just want to make sure so I can change it if need be.

No noise from the elevators at all, although it doesn't look like it on the deck plans the evelvators are in their own lobby, sounds like you have a very convienient cabin

Excellent! When we went last year we had the very front of the ship in what they call Large Outside Cabin and of course we had a little hurricane issue. Felt it quite a bit but survive it. No sickness for either one of us. Looking forward to this one!

You can't tell by looking at the deck plans, but there is a wall running between the corridor of cabins and the rest of the ship. Because of this, we have never had an issue with elevator noise.

We love the convenience of being near the elevators!

Sometimes the cabins near the elevators are the handicap-accessible cabins (making it easier for us in wheelchairs to navigate the ship -- don't have to go down those long hallways)>

Anyway, those are the only cabins I've known, and there's never been an issue with noise from the elevator. Only occasionally a bit of crowd noise when it seems everyone is trying to get somewhere, but not at night, for sure.

Have been right off the elevators on the Mariner and loved it.

The convenience to get off the elevators and have your cabin right there definitely is a big advantage.

You can hear people talking sometimes as they pass your cabin but you can hear that anywhere.

Enjoyed people who would stop and talk to us as they got off the elevator while we were leaving or going into our cabin.

Never interfered with sleeping.

Love the hump cabins.

I totally agree with Laura!! Both times we cruised with RCI we had hump cabins and no noise problems.
