Car rentals at Port Everglades

Sharon and I will be disembarking 3/13/10 at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale, FL after an Acapulco to Fort Lauderdale full transit of the Panama Canal.

We would like to rent a car in Fort Lauderdale and spend some time visiting friends/relatives in the Orlando area and then fly out of Orlando.

Are there any car rental companies at the cruise port or do we need to go elsewhere (Fort Lauderdale or the airport)???

Budget car rental is very close at Quay Plaza. I wouldn't trek to the airport.

The primary rental car facility for Port Everglades is at FLL. There are free shuttles from Port Everglades to the Car Rental Center (or it's a $10 cab ride)... http://www.broward.org/airport/parking_transportation_rentals.htm

 

Budget's location on SE17th has a very small supply of cars, usually just a half dozen or so there. You're much better off going to the airport.
