Carnival Excursions scheduled before docking time??

The 2 tank boat dive excursion for this port is scheduled from 8am-12pm and 11:30am-3:30pm

How do we have an 8am excursion if we're not suppose to be able to debark until 9am?

Is this typical of Carnival or all Cruise Lines?

Carnival Liberty 11/14/09-11/21/10

Port St Thomas 9am-6pm

If you're doing a 2 tank dive excursion you don't really need to wait for the ship to dock do you? :D

Was there a time change in port and the excursions don't reflect it yet?

Time difference. You're docking on ship time, but the excursion is on local time. I have an excursion scheduled at 8:15 at an 8:00 tender port. We'll be dropping anchor at 7:00 local time.

A ship excursion wouldn't be listed as local time.

The divers jump off the ship about an hour before the ship docks. That's the dive spot and they pick you up on the way out. :p

I have had excursions scheduled before docking because they actually have you meet before docking and then whisk you off as soon as the ship is cleared. That way they have the group together and hopefully don't have to wait for stragglers.

That's too hilarious.......:D

I think I'm going to stick with the local time vs ship time, sounds reasonable..

Plus I talked to a local and he mentioned the whole DST thingy
