On Board Credit

You can use it for pretty much anything. If it's something that can be signed for against your onboard account, then you can use the OBC for it. That includes excursions, tips, specialty restaurants, spa treatments, casino gambling, drinks, etc.

Once you get on board, the funds are mingled .... your OBC is in the same pool as your OB debt account. With $100, you are likely to use it to offset your auto tip for 4 days (which I think is $12 per day per person).

Yes I believe it is good for everything else though

No longer true. It used to be that NCL didn't allow OBC to be used for gambling or for the gratuities, but that is no longer the case. It can now be used for anything that can be charged against the onboard account.

If the two cabins are linked on one account you could even buy a Future Cruise Credit of $250 to hold your next cruise, and have $50 left over. $200 you already have, $100 for buying the FCC = $300 minus the $250 for the future cruise = $50 change!

On one of the websites, it said that you could not use the credit for tips. That's what I was hoping to use it for. Does anyone know for sure?

We have definitely used some of our OBC for the daily service charges (tips) with no problem.
