Musee des Beaux-Arts in Montreal

Who has been to the Musee des Beaux-Arts in Montreal? We are spending a few days pre-cruise in Montreal, and I am trying to plan each day's itinerary. How much time should I allow at the Musee des Beaux-Arts? I recognize that if time were not a factor, I could probably spend a week there (much like the Met in NYC). Being limited by time, however, I was wondering whether I should allow a few hours, a 1/2 day, a full day? We want to see their temporary exhibit as well as highlights of the permanent collection. Please give me your recommendations.

It depends on you and of course it depends on what they are showing at the temporary exhibits. Sometimes the temporary exhibits can be worth a few hours themselves. I would give it a few hours, definitely not a day, unless the temporary exhibits are something spectacular.... like a few years ago.
