Nassau Question?

I am going to be in Nassau in less than 2 weeks and am wondering if it is safe for a single woman to take a jitney or would I be better off taking a taxi?

 

Where can I get the #10 jitney, if it is a safe option?

Yes it is safe, but do not get off at an isolated area. I have been to Nassau a couple of dozon times and have on several occasions taken the jitney by myself. You will find the locals to be very pleasant and when someone gets on or off there will be some kind of salutation. I believe the 10a jitney will take you on a round trip tour of part of the island for $2. This is an intersting trip(not touristy) that takes about 45 minutes. You pay when you exit the jitney.
