Scenic Christmas Cruises

Interesting to learn Scenic have two boats leaving Amsterdam on the 21st of December - Ruby and Diamond.

Itinerary is the same ,hope they don't travel "nose to tail" all the way to Budapest.

Scenic advised that demand had been so high that they opted to put on second vessel.

I believe there are still vacancies on the second boat.

We booked about a month ago and were unofficially told that we will be on the Scenic Diamond and because they cannot guarantee which pier the ship will be at, we will have to make our own way to the Renaissance Hotel Amsterdam on Dec. 21st by 2:30pm for the shuttle to take us to the ship. Scenic Tours has been advertising quite heavily here in Vancouver, BC with full page ads in all local weekend newspapers a few weeks ago. Maybe they are trying to tap into the North Amercian market!

We have booked for 21st Dec Amsterdam-Budapest..........wasnt aware there may be 2 boats doing the same trip.

They did tell us that they just had 2 danube deck cabins left last week...........so guess they just have the one now!!

Although we have cruised (ocean) many times this is our first 'river experience'.........sheila's choice!

We have just received all our travelling documents for this Scenic Dec. 21 cruise. It has been confirmed that we will be on Scenic Diamond. There is a complimentary shuttle for transfer to the pier. We have to be at the Hotel Renaissance in Amsterdam, in front of the main entrance, on 21 Dec. by 2:30pm if we wish to use this service. If we are making our own way to the ship, we have to phone the ship to confirm the exact pier location. Embarkation time is at 3pm.

 

We will be all bundle up and are looking forward to the cruise in a month and half.

Always good when you have those documents.........as we only booked last week we have yet to receive the confirmation......but we have postal strikes in the UK which are causing mail problems at the moment.

We fly into Amsterdam at around 3pm on the 21st and are told we shall be taken direct to the boat.So you will no doubt be on board and settled by the time we arrive.
