Cheap Local Transportation Port Canaveral

Our Jan. Pride cruise will dock at Port Canaveral for 12 hours. My Aunt that I'm traveling with has no desire to even get off the ship. I really want to go to lunch at my favorite BBQ restaurant in Cocoa Beach. What are my transportation options (if any) please?

My opinion would be a rental car would be the best option. But you may want to check out taxi rates too.

I think I read somewhere that there is a continuous (maybe every 30 minutes?) shuttle from the ship to Cocoa Beach. Check on the Carnival shore tours site. I believe they have something.

 

We are thinking of going to the Space Center, but do not want to do the Carnival tour because it is seven hours and I am not sure my attention span will make that! LOL

 

I am not sure if car rental or taxi/van service would be best. It could be from two to five people and can't get a commitment from the other three yet.
