balcony guarantee - Liberty - any "bad" balcony cabins?

Heya,

I've sailed RCCL twice (OV and inside) and HAL once (OV). I have booked a balcony guarantee on Liberty for October 2010, there will be four of us in the cabin (me, my mother, sister, daughter).

Some questions as they pertain to CCL Liberty...

  • Are there any undesirable balcony cabins?
  • If so, where and why? (trying to figure out if we want to select a specific cabin in advance to avoid a dud cabin)
  • What is the sleeping configuration for quad balcony cabins?
  • What is the likelihood we'll get bumped to a top category balcony cabin or suite based on our guaranteed booking?

Thanks!

Some people do not like to be 1 deck below the Lido deck because of noise.

You will have a sofa bed and a pull down for the 2 extras.

Bumping a post is against the terms of service on the boards.

there are some negative cabins on every ship./

Best deck is empress deck which is located between 2 decks of cabin space and away from public areas.

Be as close to the aft elevators to put you close to food/pools for less traveling.

These balconies are cat 8B.

A cabin on the upper deck which is cheaper then the Empress leval -- there are a lot of lounges, bars etc located here. Some great cabin space too- if needing to take a cabin here and you want to be midship- go to the left side of the ship- there is a casino bar that a bands sets up across the way-- that does not start playing until 9pm.

If looking elsewhere-- you do not want to be above the stage area of any lounge/bar.

a quad cabin features two beds on the floor- an convertible sofa-- the back comes off and its the bed-- and an upper bed which is above the sofa-- put away during the day.

I definitely agree about the deck below lido. We were about middle of ship right below and it sounded like they were rearranging up there til wee hours of morning lol. But hey we had a balcony so life was still good!!! Didn't keep us up but could definitely hear it! Just beware of the noise.

Have a good cruise!
