Purchasing Liqour

I know that when you buy liqour it's delivered to your cabin on the last night. Did I read someone's post at some point that you can buy certain liqours and take back to your cabin for your personal use? I just want to know if that's an option. I'm NOT interested in wine.

You have a couple of choices..you can order ahead of time from the Carnival bon voyage gift dept. and have it waiting in your cabin when you board. Or you can try and carry it back onboard from the other ports you visit and "sneak" past the liquor collection table. not too difficult to do.

But from what people on the boards are saying, you could probably float the ship on all the beer and liquor brought on board in suit cases.

Bringing Alcohol On Board - Embarkation

 

Guests are prohibited from bringing alcoholic beverages onboard. However, guests 21 years of age and older only may bring one bottle (750ml) of wine or champagne, per person, on board only during embarkation at the beginning of the cruise. A $10 corkage fee per bottle will be charged should you wish to consume this wine in the main dining room; $14 corkage fee per bottle in the steakhouse. Guests may bring a small quantity of non-alcoholic beverages. All prohibited alcohol, additional quantities of wine/champagne or excessive quantities of non-alcoholic beverages will be confiscated and discarded without compensation.

 

Large cooler restrictions:

 

Carnival Cruise Lines does not allow guests to bring large coolers on board its ships. However for purposes of housing small, personal-sized coolers no larger than 12” x 12” x 12” for the purpose of housing small quantities of non-alcoholic beverages and/or medications are permitted as carry-on luggage. Screening and movement of large coolers through embarkation is an impediment to the boarding and security screening process. Therefore, large coolers are not permitted as carry-on or checked luggage.

I'm just back from the Conquest. I decided to not waste my money on the rum runners. I just packed a bottle of malibu in one bag and a bottle of grey goose in another bag. Then we had a suitcase with a case of regular coke, a case of coke zero and a case of red bull. We also bought rum in Jamaica and we took that back to the room too.

I'm back a week from the Victory; I brought two litres of vodka in my checked luggage and despite boarding in Barbados at 1130, my luggage still hadn't appeared at my cabin at 2000 that night.

A quick trip to Guest Services found me directed to the security room, where one of my case had a great sticker with "LIQUOR" written on it!

I had one bottle confiscated until the last night, however I successfully claimed I only had one bottle in the suitcase and got away with it as the other bottle was wrapped separately.

I also got liquor on at every port in carry on, just by walking past the check in table, as the guys on security didn't look round to see if I was heading to the table or not.

I guess they randomly scan checked luggage, because our friends got on with six bottles of spirits without a problem.

OMG :eek: I can not imagine!!! Do you have a picture of the sticker!!! I bet it was a bright color.
