djpolly Posted November 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2009 We really wanted a eastern Carribean cruise during the summer, so out daughter won't miss school . . . and I don't want to pay spring break/holiday rates. We were hoping the Dream would be our ship in 2011, but I have no desire to see Nassau again. Now, I am hoping Fantasy will be doing the Carribean routes during the summer months of 2012. Has anyone heard tentative itineraries? We really want Disney but should I start looking into other cruise lines?
truck1 Posted November 15, 2009 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2009 Itll probably be at least a year before the Fantasys itineraries are announced. Though I can tell you that it will leave from Port Canaveral, for the first several years at least. Right now its anyones guess what will happen when the Fantasy is launched. My personal theory is that the Dream will get the 7 day trips out of PC, the Fantasy will prob get the 3/4 and the Magic will be "An Ambassador Ship" as it was put by Bob Iger.Prob spending summers, in European ports, and doing special cruises out of PC. djpolly Posted November 16, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted November 16, 2009 The Dream of Fantasy would be great but 2012 is far far far far away. I might have to do a shorty to Nassau just to scratch that Disney cruise itch. Either way, I am already trying to save my pennies because we love the balcony rooms. JsMom2 Posted November 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2009 I just found out today that the Med sailings for the Magic in late July and August 2011 have been cancelled. There's some speculation that they will bring her home early to do 7-nt Caribbean sailings. But the strange thing is that they are still selling the Sept 11 Transatlantic. No telling what's up at this point, but stay tuned, as you may be able to get a Caribbean sailing in 2011.

Sorry for anyone who wanted to sail the Med but I hope you are correct.
jelbnl Posted November 17, 2009 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2009 There is another rumor that the Magic will be staying in Europe, just doing alternative itineraries, ie like the Baltic next summer.

We did a 7-night Magic cruise this past spring during the Easter break and it was actually cheaper than doing a similar cruise during the summer. Compare the rates. DVC_Chris Posted November 19, 2009 #8 Share Posted November 19, 2009 I like to try to go in the end of August, most of the schools are back in session, but mine aren't yet, so that helps a bit with the price.

Me too. Ive seen a dramatic difference, as much as 1000 dollars in a 1 week time span for the same trip.
