Cost just to go to beach and relax??

Is it possible to go to or just find a nice beach (maybe by water taxi) to relax on without paying a lot? We just want to lay on the beach and maybe wade in the water to cool off. Or is there a resort close by for a day pass at the pool? :confused:

We did Bannister Island last year and loved it. They pick you up directly from the ship, and the island is a 10-15 minute ride away. I don't know what Cruisline you are on, but I know that as of right now Carnival doesn't offer this anymore. I know Bannister is for sale, and there is some hope that Carnival will offer it again. Hopefully, soon I am hoping to go back in March. I am not sure if the other lines offer this or not.

Do you have to go through a cruise line to book going to Bannister or is there a tour operator that we could book directly?

Bannister Island is a Private Island and tour. If You Want to hang out a bit and would enjoy a boat ride to Caye Caulker, You can relax at the Split. No beaches near Belize City.
