Have you tried the cashew wine?

I would like to get input from those of you who actually drank the cashew wine (not just a tasting). I bought a bottle on my last cruise and to be honest, I am scared to drink it! Reviews of the taste of cashew wine have been mixed-some love the sweet stuff, while others had to throw it out. Frankly, I am more concerned with what the cave tubing guides told us about the wine. They said that it would "keep you buzzed" for three days! I haven't had 3 days to be "buzzed". Is this just a sales pitch from the locals? Is there any truth about the extended buzz? I would appreciate any experiences regarding this wine so I can decide "if and when" to open it.

Thanks in advance-Dittos

Yes, I like the cashew wine - but only in small quantities as it is too sweet to drink a large glass of it. Think of it as a liquor, not a wine. And no, it won't keep you bussed for 3 days. One word or warning. Once opened don't let it sit in the fridge for months as it will continue to ferment and will become undrinkable. Tell you what, if you don't want it I would be happy to take it off your hands. :p

The cashew wine is one of my favorite things to buy when I go to Belize.

I've never had a 3 day buzz and I've had more than just a glass of it in a single night.

I can tell you that the cashew wine is a huge hit at a small adult get together if you use a little bit of it with some vanilla ice cream and mix it in a blender making a milk shake or smoothie.
