Mexican Riviera -DigitalSLR vs point and shoot?

Have to decide whether to bring my Nikon digital SLR and big bag or my Canon point and shot for this trip to Puerta Vallerta, Cabo and Matalan. Zip lining not conducive to large (or amy) camera but not sure about rest of trip. Any spectacular views for a ultra wide angle or 18-200 zoom? Any ancient ruins to shoot? What are the cities of Cabo and Puerta Vallarta like for photography? Who has been on the trip before? Sailing on the Splendor Dec. 13.

Another vote for both! I always take both. The DSLR isn't taken everywhere, but the P&S is ALWAYS in my pocket. You never know when a great photo op willl come up!

I will third "both." And an assortment of lens from very wide to the 200 mm is perfect.
