Help with Carnival Liberty selection!

Hi! First time cruiser and we have decided to go on Carnival Liberty on May 15th 2010. We want to do a balcony, but are pretty confused on which level, section, etc. to go with. I don't need top of the line, just want to get a good spot for my money. If anyone wants to give any tips I would appreciate it!

Hi we were on the Liberty in June 09. .

We had cabin #1042 and family had 1038 and 1034..

It was the perfect location close to Lido :D. We did not

feel any extra motion being so far forward or up so high.

I told DH I was spoiled after having that room. It was the perfect

location. Will ALWAYS want to book panorama deck. Oh and very quite.

Thank you for your reply. I asked my TA, and it seems that in my price range the highest I can go would be 7 Empress or 8 Verandah. Any suggestions?? Thanks again!

Hi I am thinking that your TA is going to put you in catagory

8c which is on Empress mid ship or Verandah forward or aft. I personally

would choose any cabin 8c on the Empress deck. They all look like they are in GREAT location.. Cabins above and cabin below so Empress a GREAT

choice.

My DH and I were on the Conquest same ship as Liberty. We were in Cabin

8417. Loved the location just a little noise early am from deck above. So same location one deck down (empress) would be perfect!

Most cabins in any given category will look exact.

 

an 8A will look the same as the 8E. You will be paying for the location the higher the letter. With the A being the cheapest.

 

But by booking the 8A you want to make sure you are not over a lounge staging area- being over the lounge itself is not a problem--just the stage areas.

 

Empress deck being the best as it is above and below cabin space and away from public areas.

I talked with my TA and you are right, it is category 8C. She has suggested Empress deck, room 7341. Any thoughts?

7341 sleeps 3 people- If there is only two sailing... you want a cabin for two people.

 

7341 is across the hall from the laundry room. (which tends to get quite busy on formal nights)

I dont think it matters if its a 2 or 3 person cabin> DH and I stayed in a couple 3 person cabins

you never really notice the bunk tucked into the wall.

I would ask be be a little more towards the aft like maybe

7381, 7380,7385 or 7376.

I think any of those 8c cabins you will be THRILLED with!

Hi there! I had 8248 on the Veranda deck an 8c. I loved it . I was located close to the elevators. But with out all of the noise. I would get the same room again if on the Liberty..

It is rare that it happens but it does. Even with booking a hc cabin you stand the chance of being bumped.

 

On the carnival board there is a poster that was bumped from his aft balcony.

Terms of contract state the cruiselines can move you at will.

 

In summer sailing and high peak family sailing time-- you might not be able to book a cabin for 3- that means that bed goes unused to the cruiseline.

(we are booked in 7411 because of the close proximity to the stairs/elevators--up two decks for food/pools. down two decks for casino and entertainment.

 

I really loved those aft cabins since the balconies are so much bigger and I dont feel so crowded in. But the price is out of my price range now

wow! That is impressive that you know the ship like that! Thanks for the info!! I thought it would be a good idea to be near to the elevators, but my TA said that she doesn't like to be near them when she cruises, so I guess she just figured maybe I wouldn't either? We only have 2 people, I don't know why she is trying to put us in a 3 person cabin?

I just looked up 7375 & the rooms on either side are for 4 people. Do you think that will be noisy since there could be families of 4 on each side?

For a cruise for May15th I think you will be good with less kids.

 

Elevators are not noisy. You really gotta be listening to the ding even when you are standing there. (its the people --sometimes they get loud and dont think of the people in the cabins who may be sleeping.)

but you are gonna get that noise from rude people all the way down the hall.

 

 

You want to avoid being across from empty white areas on the ship deck plans. (these could be closests for sheets, towels-- steward areas)

also the room service area.

There are a lot of thinks not marked on the deck plans.
