CRUISADER Posted January 11, 2005 #2 Share Posted January 11, 2005 Thanks for posting this Deb. What a great story. I could only hope to meet such a pair as Erin and Bunny on a cruise.
derf5585 Posted January 12, 2005 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2005 Derfette and I went on a cruise with another couple whose husband was blind and had a service dog. The dog is advanced in age so it has lost some of its ability. I led the dog around the ship. Carnival put out a rug but the dog didn't now what to do-do with it for a couple of days and had a couple of accidents. Also there is not much grass in the Caribbean. Gingee Posted January 12, 2005 #4 Share Posted January 12, 2005 I wonder where the dog goes to do his business.
derf5585 Posted January 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted January 12, 2005 I wonder where the dog goes to do his business. For us, they put a carpet down on the balcony.
Gingee Posted January 12, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 12, 2005 To the one who said they put a rug down on the balcony - do you have a sight dog? I think that is great. I am a dog lover and if I saw one on my cruise, I would want to pet it which I know is a no-no since they are protecting the owner.
palmbeach12 Posted January 12, 2005 #7 Share Posted January 12, 2005 I had the pleasure of sailing on that cruise with bunny and erin and spending some quality time together. Pam Kane (pamda on the cruise boards), the author of the article was also on the cruise and we got to be friends. Unfortunately Pam passed away last year. THanks for bringing back some great memories!! pb
Gingee Posted January 13, 2005 #8 Share Posted January 13, 2005 The owner of the dog died recently?
sea_u_onboard Posted January 13, 2005 #9 Share Posted January 13, 2005 The owner of the dog died recently? The poster was saying that a fellow board member (Pamba) had died.
palmbeach12 Posted January 13, 2005 #10 Share Posted January 13, 2005 Bunny and erin are alive and well. Pam Kane, the author of the article passed away last year. The cruise was quite infamous - known as the RSMC or the Red Stripe Mystery Cruise. pb
