Need advice on PR excursions

Recommended Posts

We are trying to choose between the following two excursions on PR. We are hoping anyone who has been on either of these can give us their opinion of them:

1. Caguas City Tour and Botanical Garden

2. El Yunque Rain Forest Tour including a walk on Camimitillo Trail, Yohaku Observation Tower, and Cocoa Waterfall.

Thanks for your help.

both are lovely. the rainforest is very well known outside Puerto Rico but the botanical garden is not.

the caguas botanical garden is actually called a botanical garden and also a cultural park 'Parque Botánico y Cultural de Caguas' . It has 200 puerto rican plant species and 50 exotic caribbean plant species. It really is a walk thru the timeline of the puerto rican nation, how the 3 root races (Spanish conquistadores, Taino Indians and the African slaves) united and formed over a period of over 5 centuries (since 1492) the people that we call puerto ricans today. There is a lot of history to learn there and many great exhibitions.

the municipality of Caguas has a website with some great photos (click on the 5 photo galleries 'Galeria de Fotos') http://portalesp.caguas.gov.pr/jardin_botanico/index.html
