Hello....we are a couple in our late 40's traveling with my mom 76 and our kids 25 & 20....we would like to take in the sites and sounds of the area and can not seem to find anything on this site....I see there is a tour offered through Carnival, but I prefer to do private co verses Carnival....I see alot of talk of snorkeling or cave tubing, we are not interested in doing that......just site see and maybe a little shopping stop for a drink or two...so any help on this would be appreciated, this is the only port I can not figure out what to do.....thanks!

In Belize, you can leave the port area (yes, it is a third world country...be prepared) and get a cab. Ask the cabby to give you a tour (negotiate the fare in advance) and you won't be disappointed. Belize is a beautiful country and it's the only English speaking country in Central America, so no communication issues. Have fun.
