cruising renee Posted December 15, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 15, 2009 What would be the best way to see Harrison caves? Cab ride or bus? How far from the cruise terminal are the caves? thanks
Roses2 Posted December 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 16, 2009 We did Harrison's Cave a couple of years ago. It is quite a ways away from the cruise dock. We included it in a private tour we set up and booked a taxi to take us to Harrisons Cave as well as the Plantation and other highlights of Barbados. It worked out very well for us. cruisingbajan Posted December 16, 2009 #3 Share Posted December 16, 2009 What would be the best way to see Harrison caves? Cab ride or bus? How far from the cruise terminal are the caves? thanks It would be best to get a cab to Harrison's cave, like another poster pointed out it is quite a distance from the port. However right now Harrison's Caves are closed for "renovations" and no one seems to know when they are going to reopen:mad:. Depending on when your cruise is the caves may not be an option available to you.:(

Roses2 Posted December 17, 2009 #5 Share Posted December 17, 2009 On the first tour that took in the caves, after the caves we went to the plantation, and then the old church, the fort, circled back through town, stopped at a market and back to the pier. Four hours total time @ $25 per hour for the cab and driver/guide (plus tip and we paid the admissions) for the two of us. In November we mainly drove through the posh areas, up through the cane fields, over the back side of the island, with several stops for photos seeing most of the island we had not see before. We shopped at a huge supermarket before return a total of 4 hours. It was the same price $25 per hour plus tip. (See additional information below in the posting private land tour).
