Zihua./Ixtapa snorkeling dilemma

OK, so I've been reading everything I can find about snorkeling in this port (we'll be going on the Spirit 3/3/10). It seems that opinions are split about which place has the better snorkeling--Isla Ixtapa or Los Gatos. We're having a hard time deciding, so here's my question: if we take a panga to Los Gatos, snorkel some there, & decide we'd like to try Isla Ixtapa, will it be possible to catch another panga from Los Gatos to Isla Ixtapa so we could try snorkeling there? (Or vice versa?) I'm not sure how far apart these are, or even if pangas would be available to do this. Just thought I'd check & see if it would be possible to do both. Thanks for any help anyone can give!
