Hmmm ya know, this would all be a moot point if they just opened it up to fair market competition. End the state sanctioned monopoly and allow individual pilot companies to open up and decide what the fair market value is for a pilots service.

Oh don't get me wrong, they'd still need certifying and training and oversight to make sure they were qualified but I'm willing to bet the cost would drop tremendously.

So long as there is no competition they can demand what they want.

Well i don't agree with a closed shop - a person should be employed on his/her merits nothing else !!
