Page100 Posted December 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2009 Hi, I need to know if the Holiday Inn Old Sydney is a good central location within short walking distance of sights, restaraunts, etc. My husband can not do alot of walking. Location for us is more important than hotel price. We will only be staying 2 nights, before we leave on Sun Princess in February. Thanks
room010 Posted December 31, 2009 #2 Share Posted December 31, 2009 It's a fantastic location in The Rocks district. I always stay there when I visit Sydney. Circular Quay (ferries), the Opera House and Bridge are all a short and easy walk away and The Rocks has a great variety of cafes, restaurants, galleries, etc. It's reasonably priced too. rdowney Posted January 1, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 1, 2010 We stayed there last January pre-cruise and thought the location was great. There's nothing special about the rooms. At the time, it was a steal at under US $100 per night. There's a small cafe next door that is good for breakfast. The Italian restaurant behind the hotel is nice for a casual dinner. monicajay Posted January 1, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 1, 2010 The view is amazing from the rooftop pool area. No bar but lots of tables for sitting so BYOB. If your ship leaves from Circular Quay you can get up really early and watch in come in.
