The cruise was absolutely perfect!!!

We left Miami on Dec. 14th - 18th. We had such a great time on NCL Sky! The cruise was beautiful, our balcony room for $249 was soooo nice, the food was good and the service was outstanding! Would I do it again? YOU BET!!! In a heart beat. All these people who write in and complain about every lttle thing, come on!!! I read all the articles I could before I left and I was expecting the worse trip ever. What a pleasant surprise, it was a HOOT!! I wish I could go every week. There was no complaints about anything. You do have to watch what you drink, but hey drink too much pay too much. That is up to you. But I loved it and next time it will be longer! 5 days is just not long enough. The entertainment was great, the excrusions, well I would have passed on the Caves and Beaches in Grand Bahamas and stayed on the boat (very boring), but the Yellow bird boat party was a hoot and the Clay Stirrup good too. Man I can't wain to go again. I bought a piggy bank for Xmas just for that! Enjoy all you future cruisers!!;)

I couldn't agree more, great review. Some people will claim their cabin isn't clean if they found a finger nail clipping under the bed or a rubber band in one of the drawers. I have always found the carpet vacuumed, the sheets changed out, and the towels hanging very nicely in the bath room. I have never seen a dust bunny or a spider web in any cabin. I am the person who is stung by a wasp from a new small nest as I walk out the front door to my car before I realize its there....

Great review, OP. I think when you read a review where they complain about every little thing it says more about the poster than the cruise. Things are going to happen, no matter where you go or what you do.

 

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. It is a fantastic vacation.

All very good points. The best kind of traveler is an informed traveler.

 

While I have never had a "perfect cruise", I also have never had a bad cruise. Don't think it's really possible for me to have a bad cruise.:D

I'll be on the Sky in February and I can't wait. The funny thing is that I have never been on a cruise longer than 4 days because I can't afford to take more than a week from work. If I do a 4 day and fly in a day early then that works for me. As we know, the 4 days are always (I think) in the smallest and oldest ships. I sailed on the Carnival Jubilee right before she was retired and I sailed on Sovereign of the Seas right before RCC moved her out. So, Sky will actually be the newest ship I've ever been on. If I loved the others, there's no doubt that I'll love her as well! AND, I have a balcony for the 1st time! Did I say I can't wait????:D:D:D

Based on these boards, we had the same expectation of the Sky going in. We, like you, were pleasantly surprised at the service level and the food quality for this short cruise. It was actually nice to go in with low expectations and be proven wrong.

Since we are now residents of Florida (then why am I now in cold NJ) - we have been interested in the Sky - the price is very reasonable and your review makes it all the more interesting - thank you....

Roe, considering where you would spend the vast majority of your time, you would enjoy any cruise ship with the possible exception of Disney ships since the do not have a casino. :D ;)

 

All kidding aside, the Sky is a great little ship. I would love to go back on her but only on a back to back since we have to fly in. If we lived that close to the pier I assure you we would cruise the Sky fairly frequently.

As we are new to cruising, excuse the ignorance, but what do you mean by a back to back?

 

Doing two cruises back to back in a row. Say instead of a one week cruise do a two one week cruises on the same ship back to back for two weeks of cruising.

 

A few of the ships in Miami do a eastern itinerary and then a western itinerary, or vice a versa, so its like two cruises in one....
