renchow Posted January 3, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 3, 2010 Has anyone tried "The City and The Sanctuary" Tour by RCCL? I'm trying to figure out if the Sanctuary is the Community Baboon Sanctuary mentioned on some other threads, or if it's the Belize Zoo, or some other sanctuary altogether. Here is what RCCL has to say about the tour "This narrated tour of the city's historical sites includes a stop at a sanctuary for indigenous wildlife. Your tour begins with a 40-minute ride to the sanctuary, where you will see rare black jaguars and other large wild cats, primates, reptiles, birds, and Belize's national animal, the tapir, a cross between an anteater and hippopotamus.". Perhaps the distance (40 min) or the list of animals are useful clues for those of you who have been to Belize? Thanks!
