tackleupboss Posted January 6, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 6, 2010 First PO cruise for us. Going Feb 6th from Barbados, thro Panama canal and finish Acupulco. Checking out malaria situation and it looks OK but there is always a doubt. Anyone got any views on this. We have one Jungle type visit booked out of Puntarenas and a visit to the Gatun Lock in Panama. Cant wait to get out of this awful Winter.
Scotty Pembroke Dock Posted January 12, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Hi my wife Leigh and myself are on the same cruise. Have just checked out the national travel health network and centre web site. We seem to be safe in all places being visited. Although Panama is a high risk country the canal zone itself is safe. This is our third p and o cruise but first time on the Artemis.
Druke I Posted January 12, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 12, 2010 Artemis is a great ship for the Panama Canal, with lots of open deck space. We went through two different times on her while she was still Royal Princess.
tackleupboss Posted January 13, 2010 Author #4 Share Posted January 13, 2010 Thanks Scotty. Just being a bit cautious about the malaria bit. Looking forward to the PandO Artemis. Everyone speaks well of the ship. We have been on NCL, not too impressed and SAGA Rose which we enjoyed but thats only a small ship. bet you are both like us and looking forward to some warmth.
