Tendering back to ship

I've read a lot of posts on tendering into Belize, but could someone give me a little info on tendering back to the ship? We're doing an independent tour and I'm trying to make sure that we leave enough time for waiting for the tender and the actual ride back. Our itinerary shows that we'll be there until 5:00 so I'm assuming that we need to be back to the ship by 4:30 (ship time). So what time should we be back to the tourist village and in line for the tender? Also, do cabs pick up and drop off outside the tourist village? If so, how far is that from the ships themselves? Thanks in advance.
