Inspiration slides open at embarkation?

Hi all! We are on the one week countdown to Inspiration out of Tampa! Does anyone know if the slides are open as soon as you embark in Tampa? On previous cruises (Disney) we have carried on DS's trunks and he has been able to slide until we set sail while we relax with drinks. : ) Are the slides saltwater??

I don't have any info about the slides but we sail on the Inspiration next week too. My dd's (ages 6 and 8) are so excited to hit the slides. If the slides are open we'll see you at the slides!!! :)

They weren't last year. As for the water, I'm not sure. :( The slides were closed throughout pretty much the whole cruise because of the wind. We never got the chance to use them.

We sailed Inspiration last January. I'm 99% positive they weren't open during embark....

Occassionally we go down to the port area to watch cruise ship departures. I don't think I have noticed a Carnival slide being open during departure since the Miracle was here.
