Father of 3 Posted January 13, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 13, 2010 We are heading on our cruise next week and have arranged an island tour with Victor, we were wondering what other people have done during the lunch stop. Do you invite the tour guide to have lunch with you, we figure it can't hurt to ask them and to let them decide. We are leaning towards trying Celeste's Baleadas in West Bay/beach area. Thanks in advance

They've always been good company and it is wonderful how they know their way around a local (sometimes not written in English) menu! In many places you are likely to get the local prices rather than the tourist prices because the guide is dealing with things.

arlodog Posted January 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We always invite our guides to eat with us and buy their lunch. We have had some great meals at local restaurants this way. We enjoy trying new places and the locals know where to go!
