Crown and Anchor questions

Recommended Posts

I have cruised once on RCL and I want to go again this March. To join Crown and Anchor, they want a lot of personal information. After joining, do you get a lot of spam and ads mailed to you?

I also wonder about the values in the Gold Booklet. Are they mostly $10 off? I also see people talking about coupons in the C&A magazine. Should I try to get one of those coupons before booking? How much do they generally save you on a cruise?

Thanks!

I don't think I receive that much spam and junk mail from my C&A memebership. The coupons in the book are usually about 10% but not on sale items so not really that great. The casino coupons are actually a good deal.

The coupons in the magazine probably range from $50-200 based on the cruise and duration of it. The recent ones are only for new bookings but in the past you could use them if you had already booked. Not enough to make or break the deal but every little bit adds up.:)

I have never received junk as a result of signing up. All I get are the Crown and Anchor Magazines and an occaisional e-mail from RCCL.

Here is a section from the RCCL privacy policy discussing this:

RCCL will not trade, sell or share such personally identifiable information for use by any third parties unless we have informed you, been authorized by you or are required by law to do so. In addition, such personally identifiable information shall not be disclosed to third parties unless we have informed you, been authorized by you or are required by law to do so. The term "third parties" does not include any subsidiaries or affiliates of RCCL, service providers or vendors acting on RCCL's behalf or travel agents or the purchaser of substantially all of the assets of RCCL or a subsidiary or affiliate of RCCL. Our policy is to require that third parties keep that information confidential. We reserve the right to disclose personally identifiable information, without notice, if we believe that such action is necessary to defend and protect the rights or property of RCCL and its family of websites or to protect the personal safety of users of RCCL, its websites or the public.

and this part is regarding e-mail. When you subscribe to C&A, you check a box that say yes/no to receiving e-mail from them. You can change your preference at any time.
