nimbupani Posted January 15, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 15, 2010 We are sailing on Carnival Imagination and are scheduled to reach at 1:00 PM and schedule to head back at 10 PM. About us: Couple with no kid (age 28-31) are interested in Snorkeling or Scuba diving. 1. What all we can do in this time frame? 2. We reach at 1:00, but for all practical purpose when can we go for excursion? We prefer to take external excursion and not the one provided by Carnival Thanks for your help.:)

All drinks included and a 3 course meal. Has beach, pool, hot tub. Very quiet. Remember when you get there you are an hour ahead, so it is actually only noon their time; however, you need to stay on ship's time when heading back to the ship. I'm not sure if they have snorkeling, but it was heaven...
erinmarie424 Posted January 16, 2010 #4 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We were on the same schedule and did the three-reef snorkeling you can find here: http://www.cozumel-tours.com/ We had plenty of time to make it to the 2:00 departure - took a cab to San Miguel and walked around the square for a while before we crossed the street to the ferry pier. It ended up being about $70 for the two of us when you add in their marine park fees - but still about half of what the cruise ship wanted for their excursion. There were only eight of us on the boat (which was glass-bottomed) with the guide. They bring a cooler filled with water, soda, and little 8 oz bottles of Corona to drink when you are not in the water. We would not hesitate to use them again. AmberMarie Posted January 20, 2010 #6 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Nachi does offer snorkeling. They take you out on their boat, and generally it is just you and your party with a guide, and you go to two different spots.

Is it a beach, can you give more guidance? how to go there and rates for snorkeling. Thanks
jerry20001 Posted January 20, 2010 #8 Share Posted January 20, 2010 The Imagination is the only ship that has a late arrival which has indeed been at 1:00PM Cozumel (Central) time. It was especially problematic during December and into January with the shorter days. It is one of the few ships that may dock at different piers, it could be downtown or it could be at the International pier which is next door to the Carnival owned pier, Puerta Maya. You probably will not be docked there as two other Carnival owned ships will have priority. If you book tours outside the ship offered ones, make certain that everyone understands the variables involved; the pier, the actual docking time and importantly, the time it takes for you to get off the ship. At least you'll have almost 6:00PM for getting dark, not before 5:00PM during the shortest days.

We were reminded many times to stay on ship's time since it was an hour ahead of local time.
shelli0729 Posted January 22, 2010 #10 Share Posted January 22, 2010 We will be sailing Imagination on 3-22. We (BF, boys 18 & 21, myself) want to snorkel and have heard lots of good things about Nachi Cocum. I've hear that most beaches close at 5 pm. Wondering what to do with the remainer of the evening? Would love to bar hop but the Cozumel Bar Tour begins much earlier in the day! Would love to hear suggestion!

It would still definately be worth while to enjoy nachi cocom til they close we arrived at 1 pm ship time (12 local) and went to nachi, had plenty of time to enjoy beach food and drinks then went back to puerta maya pier and shopped, unfortunately not much else to do at that pier. The time before that we did the playa mia beach break delux it was packed
mkluvs2cruise Posted January 22, 2010 #12 Share Posted January 22, 2010 and the beach floor was scattered with large concrete blocks and debris not the most comfortable surface to walk on nachi on the other had has nice soft sand. Just a note. Playa Mia was great too though in it's own way but the International Pier is alot better for shopping and eating/drinking in my opinion. erikalea Posted January 29, 2010 #14 Share Posted January 29, 2010 Erin -that tour sounds great! Two questions: 1) What did you do after the snorkeling tour? 2) Did you get the biodegradable sunblock, and if so, where? -Erika
