jogilbert100 Posted January 16, 2010 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Hi Guys, Going on my first cruise on Island Escape in March and have been shopping around for travel insurance as my partner has a pre-existing medical condition.... I was just wondering is standard travel insurance adequate to have or do we need to get specialist cruise insurance??? Would be grateful for any insight you can give me... Cymro1953 Posted January 17, 2010 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2010 Hi Jo, Most standard insurance covers cruises. I think it might be the existing medical condition that might cause a problem. Have a look at this thread here, especially post no. 10 by Jenny http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1117951 Berwyn
pujro Posted January 20, 2010 #3 Share Posted January 20, 2010 Be very careful here, make sure you check the small print, more and more standard travel insurance policies exclude cruise holidays! For example if you're using Moneysupermarket to search, they usually give the option to view the basic policy stuff on the search results page. If it's not clear email your insurers(or potential insurer) and ask, if they say yes, keep the response as proof!
